Studying for a business management degree allows you to develop a broad understanding of business organisations and provides you with subject-specific knowledge in areas such as Marketing, Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business Policy and Strategy. This multi-disciplinary knowledge enables a student to be employed in any division of an organisation. The learning provides in-depth insights into what each division does. 

Modules like Innovation and Commercialization, Global Business Environment, Operations and Project Management and Developing Cross-Cultural Capability are uncommon and thus provides an edge to the learner. Business issues are often addressed from an international perspective. Students will fulfil two Research projects that will contribute to their critical thinking skills and develop their own contribution to the resolution of a selected business issue.

Students will gain a number of transferable skills that you could apply in executive and managerial roles.

We are ready to help you with an internship training opportunity no sooner you are ready to work. Prior to completion of your Degree, you should be looking at doing at least a 6-month internship which will enable you to start your career as a Business Executive.

Our full-time students are required to spend 3 months seeking insights into 'how corporates work' in order to relate learning to a wide variety of organizations in different sectors and functions. This exposure in engaging with experienced managers, seeking an understanding of how different organizations function in different contexts, how strategies are translated into actions, and listening to corporate leaders will afford our young undergraduate students opportunities they will cherish for a long time. 

In order to ensure that our students will possess a competitive advantage in the employment arena, our students will attend several workshops on Leadership Challenge, Strategy, and Innovation which will be enriched by corporate leaders. This exposure will strengthen their learning and facilitate networking opportunities.

Programme Structure:

Whilst the entire Degree programme will take 36 months for Part-time and 30 months for Full-time, students are required to successfully complete 15 modules during the first 2 years. On completion of this segment, students will be awarded Pearson Assured Diploma in Business and Management and thereafter progress to the Final Year for the award of the Bachelor’s Degree from University of Northampton.

Entry Requirements

- GCE (A/L) 2 passes - any Stream with English and Mathematics at O/L OR

- GCE (O/L) with a Degree Foundation Course OR

- Certificate in HRM / Business Management from HRMI / IPM / NIBM OR equivalent OR

- GCE (O/L) with English & Mathematics and 2 years work experience

3 Study Options are available

1. FULLTIME BATCH: Month 1 to 18 : Tuesday to Friday from 8.45am to 4.30pm &

    Month 19 to 30 - Sunday from 8.45 am to 4.30pm 

    (Duration 30 Months) : Including Internship

 

2. PART TIME BATCH: English Medium : Sundays from 8.45 am to 4.30pm

    (Duration 36 Months)

 

3. PART TIME BATCH: Sinhala + English (Mixed) Medium :

    from Month 1 to 12 : Saturday from 8.45am to  4.30pm and

    Month 13 to 36 Sundays from 8.45 am to  4.30pm - English medium 

    (Duration 36 Months)

 

 COMMENCEMENT: 

• PART TIME BATCH : English Medium : Sunday Batch : 4th April 
• PART TIME BATCH : Mixed : Saturday Batch : 3rd April
• FULL TIME BATCH : English Medium : 6th April 

PART-TIME STUDY      : 36 MONTHS

Registration Fee             : Rs. 25,000 (Including E Library Fee)

University Registration Fee: GPB 1,000 ( Payable within 23 months after commencement) 

Course Fee : Rs. 30,000 x 36 Installments

 

FULL-TIME STUDY        : 30 MONTHS - Including Paid 3 months Internship

Registration Fee              : Rs. 25,000 (Including E Library Fee)

University Registration Fee: GPB 1,000 ( Payable within 18 months after commencement) 

Course Fee : Rs. 35,000 x 30 Installments
